TNMA Sidewalk Fair

What makes a community?...The historic markings? The newsworthy events? The people? In an era where technology has pulled us away from the heart and soul of what makes us; members of the community, a close-knit strong front, is the disconnect from those authentic genuine relationships built through support and face-to-face interactions.

Twas the week before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas and all through the town, no one seemed to notice as local small business’s shut down.

People were happily shopping online, setting for hours thinking they were saving lots of time. Falling prey to false adds and cheap crap from foreign lands they cluelessly sat like zombies with devices in hands.

President's Letter to our members

Merchants and Friends,

I was very happy with the results of last night’s meeting. Thank You to Ice House for letting us have the meeting there. We had a great turn out, and a number of guest speakers. We had Captain Russell Green and Community Affairs Officer Caldero come and discuss a few topics. I have attached their contact sheet for the precinct. We were also surprised by a visit from Councilman Jimmy Vacca and Congressman Crowley.

Wicked Wolf Outdoors Seating

The Wicked Wolf blossomed from an idea to create a neighborhood restaurant that offers great food and friendly service. Inside, the warmth created by the rich Mahogany wood and raw brick walls leaves you feeling relaxed in its casual elegance. Combined with friendly, efficient service, the Wicked Wolf makes for a unique dining experience in Throggs Neck.

Scott Place Cafe

The Mall at Scott Place is now open. Located at 3602 East Tremont Ave, the shops consist of a Giabella's Jewelry, Vincenzo's Hairstylists, Carmine's Sweet Shoppe, and the Scott Place Café. Along the side of the building, there is an outdoor patio seating area with tables and umbrellas for warmer months. This unique (for Throggs Neck) set-up is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Department of Transportation drops plan to charge business owners for hanging promotional banners

Whoops!
The city suddenly did a 180-degree turn Wednesday on a controversial plan that had local merchants groups raising the roof.
The Department of Transportation had proposed charging merchants associations and business improvement districts - already hurting from high taxes, overzealous meter maids and a sagging economy - thousands of dollars for hanging promotional banners.
